[...] Get tactical. Think about the next 90 days. I wrote about the power of planning in 90 day “chunks” a little while ago, and you can read some specific tactics to do just that here. [...]

Love this approach, Michael.

As you know, I recently implemented chaos time. I leave 2 hours of every work day and one week out of every four unscheduled. This enables me to thoroughly complete tasks that got lost in the shuffle (or chaos) of real life. It's been a huge help.

I've also sketched out ongoing tasks ranging from teaching to tweeting and assigned a daily time increment to them. What a reality check! Turns out I have only 1-3 hours/day free for major projects. This puts "where does the time go?" into a whole new context.

I find that chaos planning and the reality check of defining ongoing tasks make focus easier and more rewarding.

I just discovered your blog and your work and love it! My biggest goal for the next 90 days is to make sure that the road trip my husband, brother and his wife are planning will actually happen. We're going to take a road trip from the Bay Area of California to Sedona, Arizona - and enjoy every inch of the journey. The challenge comes in getting it inked onto the schedule...but it looks like it's happening. This will be easy, fun, take courage to accomplish but ultimately be a Great Work because both my brother and my husband need to have Fun.

Thank you for providing this simple way of writing a plan. I'm currently working on two projects that I'm extremely excited about. One is the freelance Public Relations/Marketing work I'm doing with and Independent Music Artist and the second one involves writing a book about my grandparents work in the Civil Rights Movement. I'm grateful for your ideas.:)
