February 10, 2008Life is like a Zippo
The Zippo lighter is a design icon. With its chromed good looks and sexy click, it’s the first choice of aesthetically-minded villains. Wind-proof, it’s also the practical choice for lobbing into puddles of gas. And as if that’s not enough, it comes with a life-time warranty, so you can feel confident your tackle won’t let you down whilst doing evil deeds.
I quit evil (and smoking) long ago, but I still cherish my Zippo. It still comes out with me on occasion, just to sit in my pocket clicking happily in my fingers and supply the occasional burst of warmth to the front of my pants. The lid that doesn’t quite shut and chipped chrome could have been custom designed, just for me.
Is your life like a Zippo?
Here are two more questions to add to Michael’s three about the design of your life:
1) What can you guarantee is going to work?
2) What unique design feature do you need?
I recommend Life By Design as a place to get some sure-fire design ideas. Remember, what works for you may not suit everyone, and vice-a-versa. My tailor tells me no one else wears silicone underpants.
